Create variable of field identifier

how can i create a variable that has a reference to the field identifier?

So what i need is a variable from type "myOwnTable". That variable needs access to the data elements field identifier "short/middle/long".

how can i create a variable of the type from my field identifier and display it?

I need access to the short version of my data element.
